Overview from the CEO
The discovery of RAAC throughout the St John's Building has presented some undoubted challenges for the school and our Trust, particularly in the early days, following the discovery of this material in February 2022. I am pleased to say that since this point, through the exceptional combined efforts of the Trust, the School Governing Body, School Leaders, the DfE and the Diocese of Westminster, we have been able to minimise the impact that this discovery has made to the ongoing education and the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff. We are delighted to be working with our partners at the DfE, Diocese of Westminster and Tilbury Douglas toward a brand new school building for the St John's community as part of the Government's School Rebuilding Programme. This is currently scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2025. Pupils are currently taught in a temporary modular school building on the school site, containing all of the facilities that one would expect from a primary school, allowing children's full access to the curriculum to continue unaffected by RAAC.
My ongoing thanks to all of our strategic partners and not least the staff, pupils and parents at St John's for their exceptional work in ensuring that pupils continue to enjoy a great education and have the very best of times at school!
